Current Favorites

Here is a list of my favorite reads!

(Yes, I'm aware many of them are several years old, but I don't choose favorites lightly.)

01

The Storied Life of A.J. Fickry

This lovely book by Gabrielle Zevin is one I will read over and over again. It is a book written for those of us who love books, and I've actually purchased several copies because I keep giving my copy away to others I know will love the book.

02

The Night Bird

This and the other 3 books in Brian Freeman's Frost Easton series are some of the best mystery/thriller stories I've picked up in years. Brian Freeman is actually very active on www.goodreads.com and always happy to chat with readers, so please feel free to let him know if you love them as much as I did.

03

The Sleepy Pebble and Other Stories: Calming Tales to Read at Bedtime

My reading of this book is my absolute favorite of my podcasts, and it is well on its way to being my most popular episode ever. Dr. Alice Gregory and Christy Kirkpatrick created such sweet, enjoyable, and calming stories, and the illustrations by Elenor Hardiman are beautiful.

04

Livia Lone

Written by Barry Eisler, this series is not for the faint of heart. Detective Lone comes to the U.S. as a young girl after being sold by her parents to a sex trafficking ring. Mr. Eisler puts a lot of research into his books, and the dose of reality injected into these fictional stories is enough to make anyone squeamish.

05

P.S. From Paris

For me, Marc Levy is a special author with a unique way of telling a story. I loved this book and also "All Those Things We Never Said."

06

The Shadow of the Wind

This is another book lover's book, a mystery written by Spanish author Carlos Ruiz Zafón. It was first recommended to me by my Spanish daughter, and I believe I loved it almost as much as she did.

07

The Storyteller's Secret

This book by â€‹Sejal Badani is not the type I usually pick up, but I was intrigued by the description and was not at all disappointed in the story.

08

Harry Potter (1-7)

Okay, I know. I tried to refrain, but really I'm just not being honest if I don't add Harry Potter to this list. I know that this is a series I will continue to reread every few years for forever.

09

Honestly, I spend so much time reading for my podcast these days that I don't find as much time for new reads, but when I find new books that I think are special you'll be the first to know!
